SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY ON THE SITUATION IN ISRAEL

As part of our ongoing commitment of solidarity during this time, please join us at the JCC for an insider briefing and open Q&A with special a community resource, Yisrael Klitsner.

Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 7PM, JCC Squirrel Hill in Levinson Hall

About Our Presenter:

Yisrael Klitsner recently completed his term serving as the Diaspora Affairs Advisor to then Prime Minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett. In this capacity, Yisrael served as a driving force within the Prime Minister’s Office for the government’s overall diaspora affairs strategy, in addition to assisting on issues relating to foreign policy as well as speechwriting. Prior to his government work, Yisrael spent six years working at AIPAC-AIEF where he served as the Director of Strategic Engagement. While at AIPAC, Yisrael helped plan and execute visits to Israel by politically influential delegations, including Senators, Governors, and Members of Congress.  Yisrael provided in-depth, yet accessible, analysis of the complex Israeli geopolitical landscape and spearheaded AIPAC’s progressive engagement in Israel.  Between 2006 – 2009 he served in the Israeli Defense Forces in Duvdevan, an elite anti-terror special forces unit. He is married to Dr. Lauren Wasser and together they have four children.  Yisrael was born and raised in Jerusalem and currently resides in Pittsburgh as he continues his graduate education at the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy.

This event is open to the public, with a reminder about our audience protocols adopted from the Jewish Federation’s Community Relations Council:

Respectful speaking and listening are essential, even though there may be widely differing opinions present. This is rooted in a core Jewish value, Derech eretz kadmah l’Torah, proper conduct precedes study. We call upon those attending JCC programming to engage in mutual respect at all times.

Verbal or non-verbal attempts to interrupt and disturb a program, as well as uncivil behavior towards speakers, other members of the audience, JCC staff and/or program organizers may result in removal from the premises and affect future participation in JCC programs.
