AgeWell at the JCC South Hills

With support of the Jack Buncher Foundation and the Allegheny County DHS Area Agency on Aging, the JCC is pleased to provide services as a focal point senior community center in the South Hills. AgeWell at the JCC South Hills offers kosher style lunches 5 days each week and a wide variety of services, classes, and social activities. AgeWell also provides information and referral services, evidence-based programs, and volunteer opportunities. Individuals ages 60 and older can register to participate in AgeWell programs.

AgeWell at the JCC South Hills operates Monday through Friday from 9 am-5 pm. Appointments are preferred for new registrations. For more information, contact (412) 278-1795 or [email protected].

J Cafe at the JCC South Hills

Kosher style lunches are available for registered South Hills AgeWell members from 12:30 to 1:30 on Monday through Friday. Meals are offered at a suggested donation of $3, made via cash, check, or card.

Reservations must be made by 12 pm on the business day before the meal by using the JCC Pittsburgh app or calling (412) 446-4776. Reservations can be placed as early as Friday for any of the days in the following week.

Hayley joined AgeWell at the JCC as a Program Coordinator in South Hills in 2023. She is currently the Department Director for AgeWell at the JCC South Hills. In this role, Hayley oversees senior center programming and handles the reporting of information to Allegheny County Department of Human Services Area Agency on Aging. Hayley has a background in exercise science and dementia care and is currently an MSW student at the University of Pittsburgh with a focus on gerontology and community social work. Mickey Benson

Known for always having a crowded table, Mickey finds innovative ways to make people feel seen and celebrated. Following nearly a decade of service on crisis hotlines, Mickey is excited to be working within the South Hills community through AgeWell! Mickey joins AgeWell at the JCC South Hills as a part-time program coordinator. Through the unlikely fusion of an Albion College degree in Religious Studies and a surprising knack for line dancing, Mickey has crafted a unique path to success that seamlessly blends the sacred and the spirited. Most recently, they completed a Master’s degree in Jewish Nonprofit Management from the Zelikow School of Jewish Nonprofit Management at Hebrew Union College.
