Email Privacy?

The JCC does not sell or rent email addresses to anyone outside the organization. Users may elect to “opt-out” of any email newsletters that they receive to their inbox on behalf of the JCC.  Members may not “opt-out” of any transactional emails regarding their membership accounts.


Social Media Privacy?

The JCC  may use website cookie data or email addresses given to the JCC voluntarily to deliver content through social media platforms that targets a user’s interest more precisely.


Is Personal Information, Including Credit Card, Secure?

We use a variety of safeguards to protect the security of your credit card transactions online. We use technologies and processes such as encryption, access controls, network firewalls, physical security and other measures. These measures make it extremely difficult for anyone to intercept the credit card information you submit. When we work with other companies to process credit card transactions, those companies also use encryption and other security measures.


How We Use Your Information

The JCC will not sell, trade, or share personal information about our members, financial donors or website users with anyone else, nor will we send mailings to our financial donors on behalf of other organizations, unless a member or donor has given us specific permission to do so.

If you provide the JCC with personal information when you visit our website, or utilize Traction Guest, we may use the information in our programs and activities. We may enter your name into one of our databases so we can contact you to obtain your input, provide information about our programs and events, or request contributions.

On occasion, the JCC may share information about you with vendors and service providers that assist us with our activities and programs. These vendors and service providers help us with functions such as fulfilling orders, managing data and processing donations. In addition, we make disclosures as required by law.

The Jewish Community of Greater Pittsburgh social media pages are intended so that you join the conversation connect with other people and have fun sharing your thoughts and ideas. In our online social media communities, we want everyone to be able to feel comfortable, which means that there are rules of play even here. Please be respectful of the entire community by complying with the terms and policies of the social media site, as well as this JCC Moderation Policy and the JCC Digital Privacy Policy available here:

To ensure that everyone coming on to our pages may enjoy a positive experience we ask that you do not post any content or comments (including photos and videos) which fall into any of the categories identified below:

  1. Threatening, harassing, abusive, violent, inciting violence or otherwise inflammatory to others (including other social media users)
  2. Encouraging or may encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense
  3. Discriminatory, racist, sexually explicit, vulgar, or offensive to others (including other social media users)

  5. Promotional information, including links to third parties or their products or services

  7. Infringes or may infringe third party intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights

Please understand that any posts which appear to fall into any of the above categories or which we believe are otherwise not in accordance with the terms and policies of the social media site concerned and/or which we otherwise deem inappropriate for our social media communities, will be deleted or hidden from the view of other users without prior notification and may result in you being reported to the social media site and/or banned from accessing our social media pages in the future.
