Teen Leadership Council is a body of teen youth group leaders representing Jewish teen organizations from around greater Pittsburgh, including local NFTY chapters, BBYO, Young Judaea, USY, NCSY, Diller Teen Fellows, B’nei Akiva, Friendship Circle, and beyond.
Each year, youth professionals nominate approximately 2 teens from their youth group to serve on this council. The council represents more than 10 individual youth groups in our community, and last year’s meeting were typically attended by 16-18 teen youth group leaders who came together to build relationships, support each other, and learn together.
Teen Leadership Council will meet 4-5 times this year. Teen youth group leaders will work together to organize community-wide events for Jewish teens in Pittsburgh; will engage in leadership development; and will offer peer-to-peer support and the sharing of best practices between youth groups, under the guidance of the JCC.
The JCC is open and accessible to everyone, regardless of age, race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or different ability by welcoming individuals of all backgrounds, embracing their uniqueness and diversity under our communal tent.
