Hamantaschen and Purim Players Friday, February 26, 2021 4:30-5:30
While we know we cannot replace the excitement of carnivals and community celebrations, we are confident that our Purim Celebration will remind families of the bravery of Esther, the sweetness of hamantaschen, and the resilience of the Jewish people. Together we will roll, cut, and fill dough to make hamantaschen while talking about the mitzvot and traditions of Purim. Once families put their hamantaschen in the oven, we will begin an interactive and participatory Purim shpeil.
“Would You Rather?” Passover Sunday, March 21, 2021 4:30-5:30
“Would You Rather?” Passover is intended to help families prepare for the upcoming holiday. “Would You Rather”, is a popular format for ice breakers, conversation starters, and all around amusement in which two equally unpleasant choices are presented and each participant has to make a choice and explain their choice. During the Celebration, families will create several “card containers” that will help mark key points in the Seder. We will fill the boxes with “Would You Rather” questions related to the Seder.
Yom Ha’atzmaut Full STEAM Ahead Thursday April 15, 2021 4:30-5:30
Our Yom Ha’atzmaut Celebration aims to help connect families to the land of Israel by highlighting the accomplishments of this young nation in the areas of science, technology, engineering, art, and technology.
L’Dor Va Dor, a Celebration of Parents Sunday, May 2, 2021 4:30-5:30
This special multi-generational program will allow us, as a community of children, parents and grandparents/Special Older Friend to dig into the value of L’Dor Va Dor, generation to generation. Parents and Grandparents teach us so much and pass along Jewish traditions. Throughout our celebration, we will help kids to see the impact these adults have on their lives and discover ways we can honor these very important people.
Shoebox Sinai Sunday, May 16, 2021 4:30-5:30
The story of Moses receiving the Torah is a monumental moment in the story of the Jewish people. Our Shavuot Celebration will help families craft their own Mt. Sinai, Moses, the Ten Commandments and other elements of the story. This tabletop scene from the Torah will allow children and their families to recreate the story of Shavuot for weeks to come.
