JCC Association presents: Days of Memory – From Commemoration to Celebration

LIVE Online on Virtual JCC

April 13, 2021

Join @JCCAssociationofNorthAmerica and @VirtualJCC on April 7, April 13, and April 14 for “Days of Memory: From Commemoration to Celebration,” a free signature, three-night viewing experience featuring exclusive content created by JCCs across the continent for Yom HaShoah, Yom HaZikaron, and Yom HaAtzmaut.

This flagship program series to mark these Israeli holidays
uses storytelling, first-person accounts, music, and more to explore how telling and retelling is shaped by memory; transformed through commemoration; and, over time, shared in celebration.

  • Yom HaShoah: Join us tonight on VirtualJCC.com for “Yom HaShoah: Honoring Jewish Resilience and
Storytelling,” part of the launch of JFest, at 8 p.m EDT. Tonight we will be featuring four
international artist-educators in a roundtable conversation about storytelling and Jewish
resilience. Weaving together inspiring multimedia from each panelist’s body of work,
these artists will engage in powerful conversation about the importance of paying tribute
and preserving and elevating cultural memory—from the past into the future. Marshall
Duke, Charles Howard Candler Professor of Psychology, Emory College of Arts and
Sciences; Jon Adam Ross, co-founding artist of In[heir]itance Project; and Helena Czernek
and Aleksander Prugar, co-founders of Mi Polin, Warsaw, Poland will be together in
conversation with Randy Ellen Lutterman, vice president, development and arts & culture
    at @JCCAssociationofNorthAmerica.
