Come See Us Dance!

May 30, 2019

JCC School of Dance Presents:

Elements/Applause
Main Dance Recital
Thursday, May 30, 6:30 pm
Tickets: $8

The Recital will include a performance of “Warrior,” which was choreographed by four students from the JCC’s K&M Dancers in memory of the victims of the October 27, 2018, shooting at Tree of Life Synagogue.

“Warrior,” choreographed by Annie Mihm, Tillie Rosenberg, Lena Rothschild and Julia Strassburger, first was performed by the quartet at the award-winning K&M Dancer’s showcase earlier this month.

“When our community was struck by tragedy, we felt it was our duty as artists in the Jewish community to express our grief and mourning through movement and choreography,” the dancers said. “This piece entitled “Warrior” is our way of remembering and honoring the heroes that lost their lives to the Tree of Life shooting on October 27, 2018, and all those impacted. We created this dance to embody the fact that as human beings, we are stronger together. This dance signifies hope, unity and progression. Pittsburgh is stronger than hate.”

Performance is in JCC Katz Theater, Robinson Building, 5738 Darlington Road, Squirrel Hill
