Let’s show our loving kindness for Pittsburgh neighbors with Ukraine connections
While so many of us are impacted by the news from Ukraine, we have neighbors who have direct connections to Ukraine through family, friends, and heritage. Many of those neighbors are connected to Saint John the Baptist Church and Saint George Church, right here in Pittsburgh.
In order to show our collective concern and support for our neighbors, we invite you to come to the JCC, either in South Hills or Squirrel Hill, to write a personal message of support on a banner; we’ll provide the banner and the blue and yellow pens. We will then deliver these banners to the churches.
Banner signing dates at both JCC branches:
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, April 5, 6 and 7
You do not have to be a JCC member to participate, and there’s no need to RSVP or make a timed appointment. Please see our vaccination guidelines below.
Squirrel Hill:
7-9:30 AM in Centerfit
11AM-12:30 PM on the main floor
4-5:30 PM on the main floor
Please enter through the Centerfit Entrance on Forbes Avenue, and present one-time proof of vaccine if proof is not currently on file.
South Hills:
Throughout the day in the atrium from 6 AM-6 PM
Enter through the main entrance, and present one-time proof of vaccine if proof is not currently on file.
Our collective signatures and messages demonstrate care and support and reinforces that neighbor is a moral concept.
