POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our members, staff, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to surveillance and conflict management, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed diligently.  Secures the buildings by patrolling and inspecting the premises, monitoring security cameras, guarding entry points and verifying access.  Ensures security initiatives and procedures for the agency wide Security organization of the JCC are followed. This position requires extensive certifications and permits as listed below.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complies with security standards for the JCC.
  • Provides agency support regarding access control, cameras and IT issues as needed.
  • Monitors security cameras to ensure agency security standards are upheld.
  • Conducts security patrols and ensures that proper protocols are in place throughout the agency.
  • Ensures that property is protected from theft, fire and accidents.
  • Performs First Aid and facilitates the arrival of emergency personnel and provides appropriate documentation of all incidents and accidents as needed.
  • Works closely with security personnel to ensure proper staffing levels with an emphasis on special and after hour events.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with difficult, irate or emotionally upset people and situations, both in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult, dangerous and high stress emergency situations.
  • Works effectively with other key JCC departments to provide effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Ability to define problems, develop solutions, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to manage and balance a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment under tight time constraints.

Associate’s degree in criminal justice or related field with at least three years experience in a Safety and Security position or equivalent law enforcement experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure all equipment is in working order: inspect equipment and power sources/cords for defects or malfunctions, utilize the Equipment Maintenance Log to communicate resolved and unresolved issues. Report any issues via established protocol and resources.
  • Clean equipment daily: clean the floor, particularly under and around cardiovascular equipment; wipe down equipment pads and grips with disinfectant; dust off or wipe down all exterior surfaces of strength training equipment.
  • Re-rack all weights, bars, and attachments to maintain a neat, organized workout area.
  • Provide quality customer service to our members: welcome all to the Fitness Center, provide encouragement/assistance in achieving fitness goals, answer questions, take messages, assist with emergencies, provide members with information as needed, perform adjustments to TVs and viewing screens, and educate members about policies/procedures.
  • Must be knowledgeable about all safety and emergency procedures for the equipment and for the JCC. Ensure member safety while on duty.
  • Learn, follow, and enforce all JCC rules, policies and procedures. Follow departmental dress code policy.
  • Be familiar with programs and equipment available at the JCC; share this knowledge with customers.
  • Promptly open or close Fitness Center in accordance with established procedure.
  • Attend staff and departmental meetings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification is required. Training provided if necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service is required.
  • Must be able to effectively interact with a diversity of individuals.
  • Prior experience in repair and overhaul of fitness equipment is preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in working with electronic equipment which includes: televisions, cardio theater systems and viewing screens.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to follow projects to completion while keeping stakeholders informed along the process.
  • Physical effort is required to perform daily duties: lifting and moving weights up to 50 lbs, bending, squatting, spotting, sitting, walking, and reaching.

The Clubhouse afterschool program provides care for children grades K-5 through fun and engaging activities and homework support after a day at school. POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our members, staff, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to surveillance and conflict management, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed diligently.  Secures the buildings by patrolling and inspecting the premises, monitoring security cameras, guarding entry points and verifying access.  Ensures security initiatives and procedures for the agency wide Security organization of the JCC are followed. This position requires extensive certifications and permits as listed below.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complies with security standards for the JCC.
  • Provides agency support regarding access control, cameras and IT issues as needed.
  • Monitors security cameras to ensure agency security standards are upheld.
  • Conducts security patrols and ensures that proper protocols are in place throughout the agency.
  • Ensures that property is protected from theft, fire and accidents.
  • Performs First Aid and facilitates the arrival of emergency personnel and provides appropriate documentation of all incidents and accidents as needed.
  • Works closely with security personnel to ensure proper staffing levels with an emphasis on special and after hour events.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with difficult, irate or emotionally upset people and situations, both in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult, dangerous and high stress emergency situations.
  • Works effectively with other key JCC departments to provide effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Ability to define problems, develop solutions, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to manage and balance a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment under tight time constraints.

Associate’s degree in criminal justice or related field with at least three years experience in a Safety and Security position or equivalent law enforcement experience.
