Stop Hunger Now

This year, we will challenge ourselves by translating the words from our mouths into the actions of our hands. The World Food Program reports:

Some 795 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That’s about one in nine people on earth. The vast majority of the world’s hungry people live in developing countries, where 13.5 percent of the population is undernourished.

Since 1998, Stop Hunger Now has provided over 180 million meals in 65 countries. This year alone volunteers across the world will package another 45 million meals.  Will you make a difference?

RSVP on EventBrite. Join us to Stop Hunger Now.

Every year during this season, Jews around the world say lots of words from prayer books:

Avinu Malkeinu, Our Parent our Sovereign, halt the onslaught of sickness, violence and hunger. (Avinu Malkeinu)

On Rosh Hashanah it is written…how many will pass away by famine and drought. (U’netaneh Tokef)

We yearn for connection with all that lives, doing Your will with wholeness of heart. (U’v’chen)

You can make a difference this Rosh HaShanah by packing nutrient enriched rice and vegetable meals for those who are hungry. On Sunday, September 13, from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM at the JCCwe will do our part to reach the goal of 45 million meals.

Our modest goal is 15,776 meals. With a 10,000 meal minimum, we will celebrate the new year 5,776 through the work of our hands in concert with the words of mouths.

Join us.  Pack Rice. Make your words count grain by grain. Lets Stop Hunger Now, Together.  RSVP on EventBrite.
