Minecraft Camp Helps Round out STEM Learning this Summer

The growing trend in STEM education is something we pay attention to at the JCC. This summer, we made sure to incorporate more STEM programming into our Specialty Camps. Next week — August 10-14 — is our last week of Specialty Camps, including two STEMulating programs.

It’s no surprise about the popularity of Minecraft camp. It sold out for both of the weeks that it was offered!

For Minecraft camp, we partner with the company Hi-Tech Learning , whose experts work directly with the kids. Hi-Tech Learning has been an exceptional partner and we think their teaching model helps kids discover positive ways to engage with technology.

And kids rave about Minecraft. The output is impressive to say the least:

Next week, we’re offering another STEM Specialty Camp: NASA Lab with Mad Science for kids entering grades 1 to 4. Kids will explore the near — our Earth’s atmosphere — to the outer reaches of our solar system in this hands-on program. Comets, planets, stars and astral phenomena are waiting to be discovered. Children will learn about the forces of flight and the challenges of space travel, and build their own rocket.

Imaginations will take off in this STEM experience. There are still a few spots left; don’t miss it!
