Kids Love the JCC's After-School Clubhouse

The programming at the JCC’s after-school Clubhouse is what sets our program apart from other programs. Clubhouse is able to take full advantage of the JCC’s facilities, from tournament-sized gyms and heated indoor swimming pools to grade-appropriate homerooms, art rooms and play rooms in a dedicated area – the Clubhouse.

Participants are able to choose from a variety of electives, or Clubs on a daily basis and can explore both new and old activities. From sports to art; no bake cooking, science exploration and drama, we truly have something for everyone. Clubhouse also offers a daily homework club so participants can focus on their school work while at the JCC.

Being in the center of Squirrel Hill also means that Clubhouse participants can take excursions to Davis Park and the Carnegie Library as well. In addition to the activities the program offers, participants are also escorted to JCC enrichment classes such as swim lessons, sports, ballet, and more.

“My son loves games in the gym, and I like knowing that he is getting exercise. With a babysitter, I would have to worry about him sitting on a couch playing video games or watching TV, so I really appreciate Clubhouse programming.”- Nancy K.

This year, Clubhouse is looking forward to a new partnership with Ivivva, the children’s active wear line from Lululemon. The company will be facilitating a monthly children’s yoga workshop and other programs. Through our partnership with Ivivva, we hope to connect a global community of brave, compassionate, and adventurous kids; to get them involved, support one another, and impact the world around them.

Our program includes a diverse group of children and staff who are able to learn from and grow with one another. Our staff works to foster the development of friendship as well as teamwork and personal growth. We encourage independence, cooperation, and freedom of choice within set limits. Open to everyone, Clubhouse cultivates an understanding of Jewish cultural heritage through the celebration of Shabbat and Jewish holidays.

All staff members are over the age of 18 and have extensive experience working with children. We are proud of the program we have created and look forward to meeting new families this school year! Enrollment is now open, and the program begins on August 29.
