Introducing JParent: Inspiring the Next Generation – a vibrant new initiative funded by the Tepper Foundation, designed to help parents of young children explore and deepen their Jewish journey.

JParent offers a rich variety of events and programs specifically designed for parents, where you can connect with others, learn together, and find joy in shared experiences. This program is designed to support you as you navigate your personal Jewish path, while also raising the next generation with meaningful Jewish values.

Whether through thought-provoking discussions, moments of relaxation, or fun social gatherings, JParent provides the space and community you need to grow in your Jewish identity while building lasting connections with other parents. Join us on this journey of learning, growth, and celebration!

Join parents for four sessions focusing on what it means to parent through a Jewish lens. The sessions meet once a month over four months and culminate in a celebration. Each session meets on a Sunday morning from 10 am to 12 pm and includes on-site babysitting, brunch, and materials. We kindly request that you attend all four sessions, as space is limited. 

Sample Schedule 

 

Week One: Jewish Journey through Art: What brought me here today?

Week Two: Shabbat: Before I had kids, my Shabbat practice looked like _______, and now it looks like ________. Normalizing the evolution of ritual practices. 

Week Three: How to raise children during difficult times, a conversation with medical experts 

Week Four: Inclusion- interfaith, queer, people of color, invisible disabilities, blended families, solo parenting, new to Judaism… how to build a community to ensure we all have a sense of belonging with inclusion experts

Cohort 2: 

11/2, 12/7, 1/12, 2/8 at the JCC in Squirrel Hill Sundays from 10 am-12 pm

Cohort 3:

2/22, 3/22, 4/19, 5/17  in the North Hills, location TBD, Sundays from 10 am-12 pm

For ECDC parents, drop your child off and drop in for a cup of coffee and schmooze with other parents. Dates will be posted as they become available.

Enjoy an evening out on the town with fellow parents, join a workout class or workshop designed just for you!

 

Shabbat dinners, holidays, and celebrations with each other in a fun, meaningful way.

After completing a cohort, we want to support you in your Jewish journey. We offer stipends to cohort alumni to help offset the costs of your program or experience. Funds are distributed upon completion of the program and receipt of all necessary information.
