The Jewish New Year invites us to pause and reflect – to take stock of where we have been and to imagine who we might yet become.
At our 130th Annual Meeting, I spoke about momentum: how our JCC is no longer just envisioning the future but actively building it. This sacred season reminds us that momentum alone is not enough; we must also bring intention. The Days of Awe, the 10-day period that begins on Rosh Hashanah and concludes on Yom Kippur, call us to look inward with honesty, and outward with hope, to chart the course ahead with renewed purpose.
In the year to come, we will continue to build a JCC that honors its roots while shaping what comes next:
- A JCC that leads in wellness and belonging, where health is measured not only by physical fitness, but by resilience, relationships, and purpose.
- A JCC that attracts and nurtures exceptional talent, ensuring that those who care for our community feel just as cared for.
- A JCC that draws people together – across generations, backgrounds, and beliefs – in a time when so much seeks to pull people apart.
Rosh Hashanah reminds us that new beginnings are possible. Our momentum is real, and with our talented and dedicated staff, steady guidance by our Board of Directors, trusted partnerships, generous donors, dedicated volunteers and supporters, the question now is how far we can go and how boldly we are willing to dream. As Hillel stated, “If not now, when?” Simply put, the time is now. The place is here at the JCC, and the people are all of us.
Wishing you and your families a Shabbat shalom and Shanah Tova U’Metukah,
Jason
