JCC State of Mind: January 23, 2026 – Leading Edge Employee Experience

This week, the JCC of Greater Pittsburgh launched our annual Leading Edge Employee Experience Survey, an important opportunity for our full-time and part-time staff to share honest feedback about their experiences at the JCC.

We believe deeply in the value of listening to our employees and incorporating their voices into how we plan for the future. The perspectives shared by our workforce help guide agency-wide decisions, strengthen our organizational culture, and move us closer to our goal of being one of Pittsburgh’s best places to work. When more voices contribute, the results are more accurate and the collective impact is greater.
The survey gives our team an opportunity to identify trends, gaps, and strengths in the work we do; to inform decision-making that supports professional growth and development; to measure leadership effectiveness; and to spark ideas and innovations in key areas such as communication and trust.

After only three days, I am excited that we have already achieved a 21% participation rate and we are well on our way to beating last year’s mark. As a CEO committed to continuous learning and improvement, I see this survey as a vital tool for accountability. Feedback from our staff matters, and it helps ensure that the JCC continues to grow as a workplace rooted in respect, shared purpose, and a commitment to one another and to our community.

Thanks in advance to our professional team for the care, honesty, and thoughtfulness you all bring to this process. Your input shapes who we are and who we are becoming, and together we continue building a JCC where people feel heard, supported, and proud to do this work.

Wishing you and your families a Shabbat shalom,

Jason
