Jane Haskell Exhibit Brings Special Glow to the JCC

As the seasons change from summer to fall, a similar transformation is taking place in the JCC Palm Court, where  the walls of the American Jewish Museum have turned fluorescent and neon.

After almost two years of preparation, the American Jewish Museum is opening a special exhibit this week — Jane Haskell: Drawing In Light.

Curated by Melissa Hiller, Director of the American Jewish Museum, and Dr. Vicky A. Clark, the exhibition includes 30 sculptures, paintings and drawings by the late Pittsburgh artist Jane Haskell, including a series of amazing neon and fluorescent sculptures and installations.

Jane Haskell was fascinated by the intersection of light and perception.

She lived by the mantra, Without light there is no life.

This weekend, Saturday evening, October 24, from 6 to 9 pm, come join us for an opening reception and celebrate the accomplishments of Jane Haskell the artist.

The opening reception is open to the community. The exhibit runs through February 16.
