JCC Center for loving kindness
What We Do
The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh Center for Loving Kindness, established in 2017, works toward the goal of redefining the word *neighbor* from a geographic term to a moral concept, works to strengthen the fabric of community and the Jewish value of “love your neighbor as yourself.” CFLK serves as a catalyst for social change and connectedness through social action, community building and interfaith work.

What We Do
We bridge divides to build community.
Community members and organizations will engage with each other based on the expanded definition of ‘neighbor’ not just as a geographic term but as a moral concept.
We inspire people of goodwill to take action.
Neighbors will support and understand those facing challenges from hate, disasters, violence, or intolerance.
We support neighbors in embracing diverse perspectives.
Neighbors will integrate current events through values-based lenses.
We inspire people to move beyond interfaith differences.
Neighbors of different faiths will cooperate to strengthen community and resilience against bigotry and violence.
We create safe spaces for police and spiritual leaders to connect as humans.
Police and spiritual leaders will build relationships to promote community resilience.
We encourage neighbors to engage across political affiliations.
Neighbors will be energized towards constructive resolution of common problems beyond partisan divides.
