Winter Camp: Hands-on creativity and fun for kids

As we prepare for the New Year and the kids enjoy a break from their daily school routines, Winter Camp at the JCC is in full swing (although it feels like summer).

Winter Camp offers kids an opportunity to get hands-on with new skills, way beyond the classroom. Last week, Winter Camp included of a rotation of three specialty classes: Exploration and discovery with Mad Science, paint and crafts with guest artist Erica Rabin, and cooking with Chef John Shaver.

As the kids literally leaped with inspiration from activity to activity, they learned a range of new skills such as making stencil tattoos, using UV light to analyze materials, and how to use a spoon to de-seed a pomegranate.

Looking forward to next week’s Winter Camp activities, which are technology focused and STEM driven, there’s still room to accommodate a few more kids for hands-on learning in Snapology and Minecraft. We hope you can join us!
