#GivingTuesday – A Chance to Think Beyond the Turkey

#GivingTuesday – A Chance to Think Beyond the Turkey
You’ve made it through Thanksgiving dinner. You’ve fought your way through the spend-so-you-save shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. You’ve had a chance to start working off Thanksgiving bounties at the JCC. You’ve had a weekend to recover and a day back at the office.

Now it’s time to think beyond the turkey.

Join us, Tuesday, December 1, and participate in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. It’s a day when charities, families, businesses, community centers and students around the world come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

One way to take part in this global day of giving is to give locally—to your JCC. While we are a membership organization, membership dues do not cover the full cost of our programs. Dollars raised helps those who cannot afford to pay the full cost of membership and program fees. Our scholarship program enables everyone—from families needing child- and after-school care to youth and adults of all ages who want to stay healthy and fit— to be a part of our dynamic community.

Most important, no matter how much you are able to give or where you choose to direct your support, the act of giving is what counts. We hope you will be part of it. Every gift matters!

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
—Winston Churchill
