The JCC Steel City Showdown is on!

Registration for the 2022 Steel City Showdown obstacle course race at the JCC’s Family Park in Monroeville is now open.

Adults and kids ages 13+ can register online HERE

Race through the woods and clever obstacles at the JCC’s 100-acre Family Park in Monroeville!  This race is designed to be fun for beginners and kids and challenging for more experienced obstacle course racers.  Come conquer the course – you can make it you vs. you, or you can come and play as a couple, a team of friends, family or coworkers for a team-building experience and some good laughs.

Sunday, August 21 • 8 am
JCC Family Park • 261 Rosecrest Drive, Monroeville 15146

Adult (13+) Race
• Heats begin at 8 am. The 8 am heat will give you the opportunity to run on a fresh
course.
• The course will be 3-4 miles through the fields and hilly forest of the JCC’s Henry Kaufmann Family Recreation Park.

General Info
• Please arrive 45 minutes prior to your wave start time
• Free parking is available on site
• The LOOT: Unique Finisher Medal, Finisher T-shirt (designed and produced locally), bananas, NuGo bar and water at the finish line, plus bragging rights!

What to wear and bring if you are new to obstacle course racing
• Sturdy, well-draining shoes
• Dri-Fit shirt (cotton is usually not a good idea)
• Long socks or tights
• Sunscreen
• Change of clothes
• Garbage bag for dirty clothes

Also…

  • Kid friendly obstacles with staff supervision available
  • All participants and families are welcome to enjoy pool at 11 am

The first Steel City Showdown, an obstacle course race, was held at the JCC’s Henry Kaufman Family Recreation Park, 100+ acres off wooded property in  Monroeville, on Sunday, September 22, 2019.

The terrain of Western PA participants through hilly slopes, mixed deciduous forest and dense thickets.

Participants came to conquer the course and make it you vs. you or come and play as a couple or a team of friends, family and/or coworkers for a team building experience and some good laughs.  This course was designed for the beginner and the more advanced racers.
