June 26-July 4, 2027
For the past three years, the JCC’s Emma Kaufmann Camp Staff-in-Training have traveled to Poland with Dr. Joshua Andy, history teacher at Winchester Thurston Upper School, to encounter one of the most consequential chapters of Jewish history. This nine-day journey led by Dr. Andy invites the community to walk the same streets, stand in the same spaces, and grapple with the same questions that have shaped the experiences of EKC campers. We travel together in the spirit of inquiry, humility, and remembrance. We explore what was, the presence of the absence, the destruction of European Jewry, and the essence of the rebirth of a Jewish Poland.
ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS: Warsaw Ghetto • Treblinka • Lublin • Majdanek • Auschwitz-Birkenau • Krakow JCC • Krakow Jewish Culture Festival
