Please join us on Monday, Oct. 12 for a conversation with Dr. Ron Idoko and Daniel K. Abusuampeh on the effects of tribalism and its impact on political systems.
This gathering is part of a series, bringing people together to explore big ideas, spark dialogue and build connections. Each session creates a welcoming space to learn, share and imagine stronger, more inclusive communities.
Dr. Ron Idoko founded and directs the Racial Equity Consciousness Institute, which guides learners & teachers to analyze the complexity and pervasiveness of racism through a racial equity consciousness framework to catalyze antiracist initiatives.
Daniel K. Abusuampeh is a Doctoral Fellow with the Center on Race and Social Problems through University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. His research focuses on the effects of tribalism and asks why people divide into groups and what that division costs in terms of our mental health and community well-being.
Curious Conversations is a series presented by the JCC and YMCA, bringing families, educators, and community members together to explore big ideas, spark dialogue and build connections.
From combating antisemitism and celebrating diverse abilities, to LGBTQIA+ advocacy, resisting racism, interfaith dialogue, and promoting wellness, each session creates a welcoming space to learn, share and imagine stronger, more inclusive communities. These conversations invite everyone to participate, listen, and help shape a more connected, caring world.
