After School Clubhouse

Clubhouse at the JCC in Squirrel Hill is the premier after-school care program in Pittsburgh. Children from Kindergarten to grade 6 come to their “home away from home” Monday through Friday until 6 pm and thrive in the enriched, exciting and nurturing Clubhouse environment.

Clubhouse combines top quality facilities with trained, caring, creative staff. Our goals are to stay abreast of best practices and to bring unique and interesting experiences to our children. Each day, children are met at their buses, escorted to their home rooms, given a healthy snack including fruits and vegetables, and assisted with homework. They choose from a wide variety of clubs each day, including cooking, sports, drama, science, art, pool games and more. We visit the library, celebrate Shabbat every week and nurture the emotional, physical and social well-being of your child.

Children, Teens & Family

The JCC provides fun and enriching programs and opportunities that foster our community of children, teens and their families as they grow. Our community (kehillah) incorporates the values of respect (kavod), kindness (chesed) and character (tikkun middot), and our programs are designed to encourage learning, leadership skills, teamwork and self-confidence.

PJ Library

Free Jewish Bedtime Stories and Songs for Families. Sign up for PJ Library and your children ages 6 months through 5 ½ years will receive a free, high quality children’s book or CD each month.

My Baby and Me

My Baby and Me, based at the JCC’s Family Place in Squirrel Hill, runs social and educational activities for parents/caregivers with young children.

A variety of free drop-in groups, classes and special events designed for families with children age 4 and under are offered weekly.

My Baby and Me staff support new families in their transition to parenthood and our programs offer opportunities for parents and caregivers to interact with one another while their children play and explore.

Early Childhood Development Center

The JCC’s Early Childhood Development Centers (ECDC) provide a nurturing, enriching and safe environment for young children age 6 weeks to five years old.

ECDC prepares children for the academic and life challenges ahead. Enriched with language, reading, math, science, art, music and fun, we promote Jewish values, encourage children to appreciate diversity and provide an environment that promotes acceptance and a sense of belonging.
