SilverSneakers: Stay Healthy with Regular Physical Activity

November 1, 2020 to November 30, 2020

Whatever your age, regular physical activity helps you stay healthy!

For all of us, young and old, regular physical activity is the most important strategy for staying healthy!

  • Compared to being sedentary, moderate-intensity physical activity is associated with better immune function.
  • Likewise, regular physical activity is associated with lower levels of anxiety and perceived stress (which many of us are feeling in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic).

The Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommend 150-300 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity and 2 sessions per week of muscle strength training.

Take 2 classes a week online, or come into our fitness centers and work out. We promise you: You’ll feel better!

This month, 8 is the magic number!
Two classes per week will help you meet the moderate intensity physical activity and muscle strength training guidelines.

Anyone who takes 8 online JCC classes, works out at the JCC in person 8 times, or does a combination of both for 8 total sessions this month will be entered into a random drawing.

The prize will be some great Silver Sneaker and fitness gear to help you with your workouts.
