Screening of “It Couldn’t Happen Here,” a documentary play about Pittsburgh and Squirrel Hill in the aftermath of the 10.27.18 attack
Monday, October 25 • 6-8 pm
The play aims to tell a fuller story of what it means to live in and be a part of the Squirrel Hill and Pittsburgh communities. The play consists of verbatim language from interviews, articles and public statements. This virtual performance is an edited staged reading with a large cast of individuals connected to Pittsburgh. There will be a brief discussion with Mannino after the film screening.
Squirrel Hill playwright and Congregation Dor Hadash member Carrie Mannino developed this play as her senior thesis at Yale University. The play was selected for the Yale Playwright’s Festival, and included in a portfolio for which she won the Yale Marina
Keegan Playwriting Award.
You can join in person in Levinson B at the JCC Squirrel Hill (socially distanced, masked, space is limited). Note that proof of vaccine will be required to enter the JCC.
