Aquatics Director

Responsible for directing the aquatics program for The Greater Pittsburgh Jewish Community Center, which includes: Learn to Swim Classes, Aquatics Exercise classes, Competitive Swim Teams, Life guarding and related administrative duties.

  • Instructs and/or hire instructors for Learn to Swim Classes (infants through advanced), and Aquatic Exercise Classes, as needed.
  • Provides lifeguarding oversight at facility pools.
  • Supervises and direct aquatics staff, which includes monitoring payroll and scheduling, as needed.
  • Develops policies and procedures for Early Childhood personnel.
  • Coordinates and oversee competitive swim teams.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with members through the committee process.
  • Ensures compliance with all state, federal and local regulating agencies.
  • Actively maintain and promote agency customer service standards.
  • Works closely with the Communications Department to promote programs and events related to the Aquatics Department.
  • Supervises; train, and recruit qualified lifeguarding personnel.
  • Oversees and monitor department budget.
  • Works closely with other departments to develop aquatics programs and activities.
  • Generates necessary reports and documentation as needed and/or required.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate personal computers (hardware and software).
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays, as required.

Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education or related field with at least three years experience in aquatics management.

Must possess Act 33/34 Clearance, First Aid/CPR Certification, Water Safety Instruction Certification, and Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification. Certified Pool Operator certification.

Assistant Director for Sports and Wellness

Assists the Program Director in the provision of overall management of the Division including fiscal management, staff supervision, program development and management. Provides direct oversight to the Sports, Aquatics, Dance, Maccabi and Family Recreation Park.

  • Works closely with Program Director in the provision of comprehensive programs and services in the areas of Sports, Aquatics, Dance, Maccabi and Family Recreation Park.
  • Assists the Program Director in the establishment of division goals and objectives. Supervises, trains and develops full and part time personnel.
  • Develops and monitors department budgets in keeping with agency fiscal plan.
  • Works closely with membership/sales and finance to ensure high levels of customer service and retention of members.
  • Develops and maintains programs that are aligned with Division Business Plans and Strategies.
  • Ensures adherence to agency policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes agency software programs in keeping with policies and procedures (Monarch, Effinestri, Halogen, etc.)
  • Works closely with Marketing to promote programs and services and development of enhanced services.
  • Actively maintains and promotes agency customer service standards.
  • Generates necessary reports and documentation as needed and/or required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate personal computers (hardware and software).
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays, as required.

Sports and Wellness Administrator

Responsible for establishing and maintaining systems that support the Sports and Wellness Division including payroll, business transactions, the provision of high level customer service (internal and external), schedules, creation of forms and spreadsheets, etc.

  • Oversees Concierge desk and related staffing.
  • Creates efficient and effective reporting systems for departmental personnel to access and utilize.
  • Provides administrative support to Division personnel.
  • Provides assistance in the administration of group exercise programs, fitness and personal training.
  • Maintains payroll for division in keeping with agency policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes agency scheduling software to track personal training and interface with clients.
  • Schedules and registers members for services, as needed (i.e., babysitting, massages, etc.).
  • May perform transactions, as needed.
  • Maintains agency customer service standards, in keeping with established policies and procedures.
  • Works closely with Membership/Sales and Finance as it relates to customer service, and membership retention.
  • Ensures that Centerfit Platinum locker rooms and services are in keeping with high level customer service standards.
  • Generates necessary reports and documentation as needed and/or required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate personal computers (hardware and software).

Program Coordinator for Children, Teen and Family

Directs and implements weekend and evening activities, programs and classes for children and families including special events; coordinates seasonal specialty and holiday programs and functions in a head staff capacity with day camping during the summer months and after school program during the school year.

  • Coordinates and implements programs to meet the needs of children grades K-8, and teens grades 9-12 when necessary.
  • Develops program goals and objectives.
  • Actively recruits participants for all programs and JCC activities.
  • Coordinates birthday parties, full day programs, and other classes and programs for children.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with parents and children.
  • Coordinates transportation services, as needed.
  • Monitors program budgets and ensures compliance.

Part-time Customer Service Representative

Build your customer service portfolio while maintaining your physical health and wellness by joining the customer service team at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh at our South Hills Facility, in Scott Township. We currently have open positions for part-time customer service representative. This part time position includes free membership, and free parking. Group Exercise Instructor

Personal Trainers and Group Exercise Instructors

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh-South Hills; located in Scott Township, is currently looking for certified Personal Trainers, Zumba instructors, and BTS certified Group Power or Group Kick instructors; must be able to work nights and weekends, and have current certification. Childcare

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh has immediate openings for part-time Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and Aides at our South Hills Branch located in Scott Township. Free on-site parking as well as a health membership is included. These positions are up to 30 hours a week, 5 - 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday. A Flexible schedule is required. Must have experience working with infants, toddlers and/or preschoolers. Teachers must have degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Assistant Teachers must have at least 15 credits in Early Childhood Education or related field. All candidates must possess or obtain FBI, Act 33/34 clearances.
