Join us this summer for a middle school travel experience unlike any other. Choose between two or four weeks of local and far away adventures with Noar and Bogrim Travel Camps. The day begins at the JCC’s Henry Kaufmann Family Recreation Park in Monroeville (transportation is provided). Campers will join with their friends from the South Hills JCC during daily outings and overnight trips.

Campers enjoy time with friends while building new relationships, gaining independence and becoming part of a team. Daily journeys include trips to Linsly Outdoor Center for high adventure on the high ropes course and visits to Emma Kaufmann Camp in Morgantown, West Virginia. Old favorites like Sandcastle, Kennywood and Pittsburgh Pirate baseball games will return as well.

Campers benefit from time at Family Park in Monroeville in our outdoor, Olympic-size swimming pool, on our basketball and tennis courts and in our 100 wooded acres. During the second week of each session campers are off on a three-day out of town excursion. Campers in Bogrim are grouped separately from those in Noar, with careful attention paid to leadership development, individual growth and promotion of self-confidence.

Transportation

Transportation is included and available at central locations. Upon registration, we will provide you with a list of options to choose from. Camp counselors from Noar and Bogrim as well as J&R Day Camp provide supervision to campers on the buses every day. Central location pick ups are between 8:30 and 9 am and drop offs are between 4 and 4:30 pm.

Meals

During daily trips in Pittsburgh, campers will need to bring a lunch. During some daily trips, campers will be given the option to bring money to purchase lunch. A calendar will be sent home before camp begins with food information. All meals are provided during the Three-Day-Getaways.

Three-Day-Getaway

During the second week of each session, Noar and Bogrim campers embark on a trip out of town. Each getaway includes travel by coach buses and overnight accommodations in Jewish Community Centers. All meals will be provided as well, with most dietary needs being met (kosher, vegetarian, etc.). This summer’s first session Getaway includes a visit to Niagara Falls and Darien Lake Theme Park. Second session’s Getaway incorporates a trip to Philadelphia with a visit to the Delaware Beaches.
