Family Place: JCC-South Hills

Family Place, for newborns to age 3 accompanied by an adult, is a cozy, child-friendly room well-equipped with age-appropriate toys located next to the front desk. It provides a space where you can meet friends and participate in informal classes and discussion groups while your child explores the toys and books and interacts with other children.

Open Play

  • Mondays, 9 am-6 pm
  • Tuesdays, 9 am-6 pm
  • Wednesdays, 9-10 am and 1-6 pm
  • Thursdays, 9 am-6 pm
  • Fridays, 9-10 am and 1-6 pm
  • Saturdays, 1-6 pm
  • Sundays, 9 am-5 pm

Camping Fun

Ages 16 months-2 years Art project, sensory exploration or other activity that you can do with your child. Wednesdays, 11:30 a.m.

Kabbalat Shabbat

Join us as we light candles, say the blessings and enjoy juice and challah to celebrate Shabbat in our outdoor classroom. Fridays, 10 a.m.

Coffee and Conversation with Kelly

Following Kabbalat Shabbat, let your child play while you join us for an informal discussion on such topics as positive parenting, cooking for baby, "smart" toys vs. classic toys, rainy day activities, how to raise creative children and the challenges of being a stay-at-home or working parent. Fridays, 11:15 a.m.

Parent's Night Out

Let your spouse watch the kids as we get together at the Pottery Café in Mt. Lebanon for pottery painting and pizza. Please RSVP for this event at ext. 210. July 16, 4 to 6 p.m., $10 plus the cost of the firing.

Family Picnic

The JCC "backyard" is calling to your family. Pack a dinner and we will provide the beverages. Enjoy the company, swim and relax. July 27, August 17, 5:30-7:30 pm; $5/non-member to swim
